Jeannie & Nick's masquerade reception

Posted by Wedding Creativo Daily Photo Blog (Chicago, United States) on 16 March 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

We are extremely excited to announce being named winners in Photo District News 2008 Top Knots wedding photography competition. We were chosen from among thousands of submissions from photographers around the world.

We are thrilled to be recognized for our work, and we owe a big thanks to Jeannie and Nick for choosing us to be part of their magical day. This award is truly a testament to the collaborative relationships we have with our clients. Jeannie had a great idea with her surprise masquerade at her reception (besides Jeannie and Nick, only her parents and us were privy to the big surprise). Jeannie envisioned a big group shot of everyone wearing their masks, a la the legendary Truman Capote parties in the 1950s. It was fun to make this concept a realty. We also think Giorgio standing on the ledge of the balcony had something to do with the intense focus of everyone's attention in the picture! Yikes!

The Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel was the perfect setting. They have a fantastic lighted floor (the only one of it's kind in the city of Chicago).

You can see our award-winning shot in the April 2008 edition of Photo District News.
